Bucephalandra Apple Leaf
Description
Bucephalandra Apple Leaf in German Bucephalandra Apple Leaf is an increasingly popular aquatic plant, the name of which is undoubtedly due to the geometric shape of its leaves, which are similar to those of an apple tree.
History
Like all Bucephalandra plants, the Bucephalandra Apple Leaf has its origin in Borneo and has been cultivated with great success for some time.
Look
In the right light, Bucephalandra Apple Leaf produces a strong color that is particularly fresh and fruity. Its foliage itself is often associated with an apple tree leaf, which is why it has been given the name. Leaves that are still young come in a dark blue to dark green. Only in old age do the leaves change color to a light green hue, which does not lose its visual freshness. It has small, fine white dots on the upper side of the leaf. Bucephalandra Apple Leaf is a good choice if you want to plant an underwater bonsai, for example, with a very special flair and high recognition factor.
Maintenance
All Bucephalandra belong to the genus Epiphytes (perch plants). So Bucephalandra ideally needs a hard surface (hardscape) such as stones, bones, roots etc. in order to be able to wrap their rhizome (stem axis system) around them. It is fixed with a special thread or adhesive that we offer for you here in our Buce2Love shop.
Bucephalandras are otherwise very undemanding in their keeping and care and can therefore be described as frugal and therefore particularly suitable for newcomers to the aquarium hobby. They are robust, require a medium level of illumination (appropriate lighting) and a temperature like in their home on Borneo, which is between 20 and 28 ° C. Ideally, you should ensure that there is sufficient water movement because they love it.
Bucephalandra Apple Leaf does not require any special care and, like all Bucephalandra, can be handled.
It is advisable to plant them in basins that have already been retracted.
Particularities
Every Bucephalandra is actually something special and, due to its biodiversity, is so popular and sought after in the aquarium hobby. Bucephalandra naturally grows very slowly, so that the plants become real rarities and thus a collector's item that you can have a lot of fun with. Who doesn't enjoy the calming effect of a local water landscape ?!
