Bucephalandra sp. Theia
Description
Bucephalandra Theia is a rather medium-sized aquatic plant of its kind. Its name is likely to come from Greek mythology, where Theia is worshiped as a titan goddess and she shines and fascinates with her charisma. Hence the name, because Bucephalandra Theia actually looks very airy and raised in the aquarium due to its splaying leaves. In terms of its overall appearance, it makes a very robust and powerful impression and is a real eye-catcher in the pool. Also suitable for beginners.
History
Like all Bucephalandra plants, the Bucephalandra Theia has its origin in Borneo and has been cultivated with good success for some time.
Look
Bucephalandra Theia belongs to the medium-sized aquatic plants. Most noticeable are their splayed leaves, which make them look very airy and légère. Its leaves are geometrically rather narrow and elongated and are distinctively wavy on the edge of the leaf. In addition, the petiolus protrudes strongly, which makes it look particularly strong. In terms of color, it has a rich green that shades through to brown tones. Overall, she looks very sublime and elegant, but also natural, which makes her a coveted Bucephalandra.
Maintenance
All Bucephalandra belong to the genus Epiphytes (perch plants). So Bucephalandra ideally needs a hard surface (hardscape) such as stones, bones, roots etc. in order to be able to wrap their rhizome (stem axis system) around them. It is fixed with a special thread or adhesive, which we offer for you to order here in our Buce2Love shop.
Bucephalandras are otherwise very undemanding in their keeping and care and can therefore be described as frugal and therefore particularly suitable for newcomers to the aquarium hobby. They are robust, require a medium level of illumination (appropriate lighting) and a temperature, like in their home on Borneo, between 20 and 28 ° C. Ideally, you should ensure that there is sufficient water movement because they love it.
Bucephalandra Theia does not require any special care and can be handled like all Bucephalandras. It is advisable to plant them in basins that have already been retracted.
Particularities
Every Bucephalandra is actually something special and, due to its biodiversity, is also so popular and sought after in the aquarium hobby. Bucephalandra naturally grows very slowly, so that the plants become real rarities and thus a collector's item that you can have a lot of fun with. Who doesn't enjoy the calming effect of a local water landscape ?!
Our Buce2Love team knows how to look at the photos, especially for newcomers. Since the name sp. (spec) and there could be disagreements in the genre, as there is as yet no scientific standard catalog that has universal validity.
