Bucephalandra Dark Hera

 

The Dark Hera is a small to medium-sized aquatic plant with a beautiful and interesting texture. This makes it an attractive representative of the oval-leaved Bucephalandra plants in terms of appearance. Her name "Hera" could allude to Greek mythology, where Hera is considered the wife of Zeus and is known for her sublimity, but also for her roughness. On the Bucephalandra sp. Like all Bucephalandra plants, the Bucephalandra Dark Hera has its origin in Borneo and has been cultivated with good success for some time.
 

Bucephalandra sp. Dark Hera can be described as a small to medium-sized aquatic plant due to its nature. Its leaves are single and geometrically oval shaped. It has a slightly more pronounced petiolus, which gives it a robust and distinctive appearance. From the color it brings out juicy dark green leaves, which shimmer in various darker shades with appropriate lighting. This gives them a certain depth, which you can see in our photo. A very interesting Bucephalandra that looks good in the front area of ​​the aquarium.
 

All Bucephalandra belong to the genus Epiphytes (perch plants). For example, Bucephalandra ideally needs a hard surface (hardscape) such as stones, bones, roots, etc. in order to be able to wrap their rhizome (stem axis system) around them. Bucephalandras are otherwise very undemanding in their keeping and care and can therefore be described as frugal and therefore particularly suitable for newcomers to the aquarium hobby. They are robust, require a medium level of illumination (appropriate lighting) and a temperature like in their home on Borneo, which is between 20 and 28 ° C. Ideally, you should ensure that there is sufficient water movement because they love it.

Bucephalandra sp. Dark Hera does not require any special care and can be handled like all Bucephalandras. It is advisable to plant them in basins that have already been retracted.

Bucephalandra naturally grows very slowly, so that the plants become real rarities and thus a collector's item that you can have a lot of fun with.
