Bucephalandra sp. Red Mini
Description
Bucephalandra Red Mini is a rather smaller aquatic plant that does particularly well in smaller nano tanks. It gets its name from its small stature and because of its reddish color gradations. The Red Mini is a rather inconspicuous plant, which makes it look particularly natural in the aquarium. So far nothing is known about the exact origin. Like many of its conspecifics, it will have developed as a rheophyte in streams.
History
Like all Bucephalandra plants, the Bucephalandra Red Mini has its origin in Borneo and has been cultivated with great success for some time.
Look
Bucephalandra Red Mini is one of the smaller aquatic plants of this type. Their soft and juicy leaves are geometrically oval and have hardly any undulations on the leaf edge. Their contours are very soft, which is why they could appear filigree to the viewer. From the color it produces a juicy to bright green, which develops into a reddish shimmer in smooth and harmonious color nuances. A small but fine plant that is also good for beginners and especially good in smaller aquariums.
Maintenance
All Bucephalandra belong to the genus Epiphytes (perch plants). So Bucephalandra ideally needs a hard surface (hardscape) such as stones, bones, roots, etc. to be able to wrap their rhizome (stem axis system) around them. It is fixed with a special thread or adhesive, which we offer for you to order here in our Buce2Love shop.
Bucephalandras are otherwise very undemanding in their keeping and care and can therefore be described as frugal and therefore particularly suitable for newcomers to the aquarium hobby. They are robust, require a medium level of illumination (appropriate lighting) and a temperature like in their home on Borneo, which is between 20 and 28 ° C. Ideally, you should ensure that there is sufficient water movement because they love it.
Bucephalandra sp. Red Mini does not require any special care and can be handled like all Bucephalandras. It is advisable to plant them in basins that have already been retracted.
Particularities
Every Bucephalandra is actually something special and, due to its biodiversity, is also so popular and sought after in the aquarium hobby. Bucephalandra naturally grows very slowly, so that the plants become real rarities and thus a collector's item that you can have a lot of fun with. Who doesn't enjoy the calming effect of a local water landscape ?!
Our Buce2Love team knows how to look at the photos, especially for newcomers. Since the name sp. (spec) and there could be disagreements in the genre, as there is as yet no scientific standard catalog that has universal validity.
